March 22, 2023
2:45 p.m.
Willard Straight Theatre, 104 Willard Straight Hall

A family of refugees from Sudan has landed in cold, upstate New York just as an administration hostile to immigrants takes over and the Refugee Center overseeing their resettlement is faced with a battle for its own survival.

Join students and faculty from GDEV 2105: Critical Global Citizenship, in collaboration with the Migrations Initiative, the Polson Institute for Global Development and the David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement as we screen Utica: The Last Refuge an important and timely documentary. Directly following the screening will be a short Q&A with the filmmaker, Loch Phillipps, and Utica community members featured in the film.
