Danny Parker is creating a course that introduces the importance of civil society in sustaining democratic culture and equitable futures for citizens. Parker hopes to center the course around students engaging in critical reflection as they volunteer with civic institutions so they can learn first-hand how communities are sustained and transformed through collective effort. As a faculty fellow, one of Parker’s goals is to learn how to establish lasting community partnerships where partners’ missions are supported through student involvement.
