In February, the Einhorn Center’s Alumni Advisory Council had its first in-person meeting during the 2024 Cornell Alumni Leadership Conference (CALC) in Baltimore.
During the meeting, the alumni and student members of the council, along with staff from the center and from Student and Campus Life (SCL), focused on finding professional and personal connections and learned about SCL’s current fundraising strategy and efforts. The highlight of the meeting were reflections on community engagement experiences shared by Olivia Ochoa ’24, Ella Paolucci ’24, Laila Rahbari ’24 and Angelina Tang ’24.
These reflections set the stage for the following two days at the conference where, during networking sessions, attendees were able to share the unique power of leadership development that occurs in the context of community-engaged learning. With the relatively small number of student attendees at the conference overall, the Einhorn Center students were given the opportunity to connect with energized Cornellians committed to supporting the university in all of its efforts, including “doing the greatest good” via public and community engagement.
