Alumni Advisory Council to increase alumni involvement in community-engaged learning
By Ashlee McGandy

The Einhorn Center is excited to announce the launch of our Alumni Advisory Council. This team of 37 alumni and current students will work with center staff to engage with other Cornell alumni and get them involved in the mission of the center.

The council is building on the work of an ad hoc Alumni Advisory Group, which convened last year and developed a range of projects to increase alumni-student interactions in service settings.

“Cornell alumni are proud of their alma mater and eager to share their substantial knowledge, experience and networks with the next generations of Cornellians,” said Mike Bishop, the Einhorn Center’s director of strategic partnerships and co-curricular learning, who facilitates the Alumni Advisory Council. “The center is excited to enter this next phase of expanding the circle of alumni participation.”

The council will support several goals, including increasing alumni involvement in community-engaged learning (CEL) programs, courses and projects throughout the university; supporting the growth of the Einhorn Center alumni network through relationships and wisdom; increasing alumni giving to the center; and assessing the long-term impact of public service and CEL on alumni.

The council members — who were selected through a nomination process — will serve either a one- or two-year term through October 2025. See the list of council members and learn more about opportunities for alumni.
