Want your students to help advance research with real-world implications? Want to make a course more relevant to contemporary issues? Interested in deepening student learning while building their skills for making a difference? Have a community partner in other areas of your life you want to bring in to your teaching? Perhaps you just want to incorporate an engaged element into an already existing course.

Purpose
Purpose

During this two-day institute, faculty develop a community-engaged learning course.

CELT is designed for faculty interested in community-engaged pedagogy, this institute introduces participants to

  • the main elements of community-engaged courses
  • creating or reshaping a syllabus so that it integrates engagement
  • foundational readings, tools and discussions
  • a network of support with colleagues from across campus.
