What is your favorite thing about POST? My favorite part about POST is the community that it fosters. Over the course of a few short days, POST participants and leaders develop connections that last far beyond the program’s end. These connections were invaluable during my transition to life at Cornell. Through all the changes and new experiences associated with coming to Cornell, I knew I had my fellow POSTees and leaders by my side. Even now, after many months, my POST team is like family!

Share a favorite POST service site and why: One of my favorite POST service sites is Taughannock Falls. My team worked to remove invasive species in the forest surrounding the falls, and it was such a joy to be immersed in nature and learning about plants and ecology. The nature in Ithaca is so beautiful, and it was a privilege to help to preserve its diversity.

Why did you choose to participate in POST? I chose to attend POST because it sounded like an incredibly immersive experience that would allow me to become oriented early to Cornell and the Ithaca community. Also, service was a passion of mine throughout high school, so I found POST to be well-suited to my interests and to meeting people similar to me.

What is your favorite thing about Cornell? My favorite thing about Cornell is the wealth of opportunity and experience that it provides. There are endless events, clubs, classes and people here. I love that every day I can wake up and have a new adventure.

What other programs/activities are you involved in? Astronomy research, physics teaching assistant, Cornell Society of Physics Students, Ballet&Books, the Steminist Movement | Cornell, Court-Kay-Bauer Residence Hall Student Council, the Cornell Astronomical Society and Pandora Dance Troupe.
