For Hoffman’s project, he is writing an op-ed about the community-engaged research he is conducting. Through this piece, he intends to raise public awareness about the marginalized communities he works with, translate his research findings into actionable insights, counter harmful and hateful narratives about LGBTQ+ populations and elevate the voices of the community.
The Community-Engaged Practice and Innovation Awards recognize faculty who have developed community-engaged learning, leadership or research activities that create curricular and co-curricular opportunities for students.
