2018-19 Faculty Fellow in Engaged Scholarship Project

Transformation of the educational experience is one outcome of community-engaged learning, but personal transformation among community partners is the basis for resilience in communities. Anasuya Rangarajan is articulating the broad impacts of engaged work to scholarly and general audiences by elevating the voices of her stakeholders: Latino farm workers, military veterans, local food systems advocates, black women farmers in South Africa and other marginalized groups. Sharing stories of changes in their sense of agency, risk tolerance in decision making and wellbeing will shed light on effective engagement strategies, demonstrate the human impact of engaged work and highlight the role of academics as agents of change.
