Hale Ann Tufan is working with Engaged Faculty Fellow Virginia Moore to develop a course: People, Plants and Participation: Plant Science Research With and For Communities. This course will include both participatory research theory and opportunities to practice and build participatory research skills for students around plant science topics.
During their fellowship year, they will explore ways to build relationships with community partners that are mutually beneficial and design project-based approaches to integrate student skill development (e.g., needs assessment, co-design of research projects, data collection, analysis and interpretation) in the course.
