Fellows come from all over the university, bringing their particular passions and living out the public purpose of their discipline through teaching and researching in, with and for community.

For his Einhorn Center Faculty Fellowship, Hartman is exploring many of the same themes in designing a workshop class focused on the Allston neighborhood in Boston and the Allston Multimodal Project being planned there. The Allston Multimodal Project is a highway redevelopment project that has been in planning for over 10 years. When complete, it will open up more than 50 acres of land for redevelopment and potentially create a “West Station” which could change the topology of Boston’s rail network in important ways. His workshop class explores the politics of this community engagement process and potential financing and organizational structures for the future of the Allston project.
