Purpose

The Community Engagement Staff Institute (CESI) is a professional development opportunity for professional staff who support community engagement at Cornell. Together with faculty and academic staff across campus, professional staff serve important roles in supporting undergraduate and graduate students who will become a new generation of engaged leaders. This Institute seeks to further build the capacity and network of these professional staff members whose efforts transform higher education through programs that partner with local, national and global communities.

Attend this half-day institute and …

  • gain a better understanding of community engagement at Cornell
  • learn best practices for supporting students who are community engaged
  • reflect on your career and identify skills that can help you facilitate high-quality community engagement
  • connect with and learn from staff colleagues experienced in partnering with local, national and global communities
  • learn about other community engagement opportunities available at Cornell
