Daniel Mansoor graduated from the College of Engineering in 1979 and earned an MBA from the Johnson College of Business in 1980. Dan began his career in fundraising and development when he returned to Cornell in 1984 in fundraising and alumni affairs for the Johnson School and then the College of Arts & Sciences.
Dan is president of the GoodWorks Group, a consultancy he founded in 1995 focused on fundraising and development for the nonprofit sector. He has held leadership roles at Cornell, Brandeis University and United Way of Greater Cleveland. He has been an adjunct instructor at Case Western Reserve University, teaching the graduate class in fundraising and philanthropy. His recent work includes the application of behavioral sciences (economics and psychology) to improve fundraising success.
Dan has been active in Cornell alumni activities since graduation. He has served multiple roles in the Class of ’79 leadership, including president. He served as president of the Cornell Club of Northeast Ohio. Other volunteer activities involve his fraternity, Sigma Phi Society and his high school, Madison (WI) West; and he played a role in the establishment of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County in 2000. He served as chair of the Family Foundation Conference (NYC 2004) of the Council on Foundations.
He is married to a Cornellian and is a proud father to two Cornell daughters. The dog is not a Cornellian (yet).
