In this project, a team of students from the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs is collaborating with the Town of Dryden and faculty in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations to evaluate 22 positions in the town. This comprehensive study will prepare the town to implement an equitable and state-of-the-art compensation plan. A final report presented to the town board will establish the value of each position, identify and eliminate possible discriminatory factors that could depress wages for female- or minority-dominated job titles; evaluate the town’s pay structure in relation to that of the external labor market and recommend a pay structure that reflects the town’s fiscal capability.
