Recently there has been much conversation around institutions of higher education committing their place-based economic power and human capital to partner with local communities. This project researches ways for Cornell to advance such an anchor mission through supporting employment in Tompkins County.
Building on Cornell’s already significant contribution to employment in the county, this team is examining how employment-related initiatives by Cornell and other higher education institutions have fostered supportive local employment ecosystems especially for low-to-moderate income community members.
