In this project, faculty and graduate students are partnering with the Akwesasne Housing Authority (AHA) to explore how landscape architects can design environmentally sustainable, affordable housing that fosters, in the words of the AHA, “the physical, mental, spiritual and cultural growth of the community.” The Cornell team is collaborating with the AHA and other community partners to design boardwalk connections between adjacent wetlands and the senior housing complex, as well as siting a new community center.
