What can the history of women’s performance teach society about the future of feminism? How can artists use performance to reflect the changes they want to see in the world? Internationally acclaimed performance artists Lois Weaver and Holly Hughes, visiting professor Rhodessa Jones and Ithaca-area activists, artists and scholars are exploring these questions during a free, multi-day event in March 2019. Through workshops, lectures and performances, participants will increase their skills in intersectional feminist techniques and building a feminist network for future practice. With support from a number of Cornell units, the team is collaborating with local theaters and agencies to extend the symposium activities to the larger Ithaca community.
