Engineers in Action is a project team committed to sustainable solutions, designing footbridges for isolated communities and fostering safer access to healthcare and education. Pioneering a new WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) program in Eswatini, this project team is addressing water accessibility, showcasing adaptability and resilience.
Through extensive engagement with the local community, the Cornell team identified the Matfuntini Primary School as an essential place to implement a WASH system. The team of six Cornell students is traveling to Eswatini in summer 2024, emphasizing learning bridge-building foundations, providing clean water to elementary schools and fostering cultural awareness. The community-driven approach ensures that projects are rooted in the lived experiences and aspirations of the community.
